FX II Common Control Boards
FXCPU-EX Processor Board
Description
• The FXCPU-EX board is a daughter board that mounts to the FXSRV-EX Services board. It
is designed to support a single cabinet configuration, main cabinet only.
• The FXCPU-EX board comes with 3 different sets of memory that are necessary for the
operation, programming, and functionality of the FX II system.
• The board contains:
* 2 Serial ports (programmable to 19,200 bps): Non-dedicated; compatible with serial
printers, OAI applications (e.g., Wide Open Office), and can be used for direct link
programming
* Operational Memory: Holds Flash, 1 MB Scratch, and 1MB NOV RAM.
Flash: Used for system initialization, storing current feature sets, and establishing slot-
size capabilities. The Flash memory is retained by the super capacitors installed on the
FXCPU boards. The capacitors can maintain system programming for 65 hours.
Scratch: Workhorse memory for the board—RAM used for general telephony activities
(e.g., speed dialing, transferring, call-forwarding).
NOV: (Nov-Volatile) RAM: Used for SMDA storage, 200 call records maximum.
• The FXCPU-EX uses the FX II 96 software bin file located on the Comdial Dealer Resource
Center.
• You are required to load the software to a new system. It ships with test software just like the
FXT / FXS.
FXCPU-2 Processor Board
Description
• This is the same part number that was used for the FXT / FXS. Please be aware that you
need at least a revision P FXCPU-2 to be compatible with the FX II system. The FXCPU-2
